I first heard Elton John in the mid (early) 70s when one of my sisters had his first album floating around the house. I was never really a big fan growing up because he always seems a little too pop for me and as my musical tastes began to develop, songs like Island Girl and Philadelphia Freedom just didnt cut it. My wife was always a fan however and after seeing him in the summer of 96, I became a believer. He is a legend and a pioneer.
